Welcome. I’m a contributor over at GameFAQs.com and a sometime denizen of its message boards.
Games are listed alphabetically by title and chronologically storywise within series. Guides open in new windows or tabs, as do links leading off-site.
- Final Fantasy X — My Shortlist
A personal shortlist for use while playing FFX. Tips and reminders, both obscure and obvious, I’ve cobbled together to forestall the need for searching through the plethora of published guides. Maybe it’ll prove useful for someone else, too.
Current. Complete, for the moment at least. Status: Active. Never intended for submission to GameFAQs.
- Final Fantasy X — Blitzball Techniques: A Primer
A practical guide on gaining blitzball techniques: Using Techcopy; the importance of Key Techs; making specialty techs appear; the mysteries behind the Tech Find prize. A great swath of FFX players eschew blitz entirely and, I suspect, the reason lies in the difficulty in learning the techniques so vital to the game. Folks having problems too often receive “use Techcopy” and “keep trying” without elaboration in response to their help requests, so I’ve compiled all the answers in this one guide, unearthed the clues buried in other FAQs, winnowed the chaff, refined the tips, and tested, tested, tested. Remember, this is a primer, not a perfectionist’s guide, though everything tech related is covered.

A few edits and a significant correction based on a new playthrough. Links reverified & updated (20091202). |
1.4 |
1/31/2007 |
Submitted to GameFAQs, but now rejected due to Oversaturation, though I’d addressed GameFAQs’s prior comments. Oh well. Retested against a new playthrough, reverifying every bit of feedback; fixed inaccuracies, clarified vagaries; increased Qs from 26 to 27. |
1.3 |
12/14/2006 |
Submitted to GameFAQs, but subsequently rejected as not beginner-ish enough. Integrated further feedback; increased Qs from 24 to 26. |
1.2 |
12/6/2006 |
Integrated feedback received so far; increased Qs from 21 to 24; added to Acknowledgments. |
1.1 |
12/4/2006 |
Added sections; beefed up others; increased Qs from 17 to 21. |

11/19/2006 |
Original. Submitted to GameFAQs as Final Fantasy X Blitzball Tech Tips. Rejected after content review for several reasons: Duplication; Lack of Content; Oversaturation. |
- Final Fantasy XII — Omega Mark XII
Detailing the methodology I ultimately employed to defeat Omega Mark XII, an optional boss lurking in the bowels of FFXII. The method is a composite built from numerous tips and suggestions (all documented herein). Not an “expert” guide by any stretch, but useful perhaps for anyone frustrated by this foe.
Current. Complete, with no updates anticipated. Never intended for submission to GameFAQs. (16K)
Note. Some players have pointed out head gear was misunderstand at the time and ended up a nonissue. I have done no new testing, so adjust as you like.
- Final Fantasy Tactics — Propositions (Preview) New!
Following FFT’s propositions sidequest was always a bit frustrating. The Props sticky topic of old had long since vanished and what replaced it was largely incorrect, with most guides ignoring or (frankly) butchering what little had been known. Then I was kindly handed a link (cited within) and unearthed a copy of the Errands FAQ, containing an exquisite amount of detail on the proposition mechanics. I then proceeded to table its information into a format useful to me—and hopefully every player—no math required.
New! Preview only for now, with no updates scheduled. This is an excerpt from a work in progress. The Ch.4 data tested rock solid, but data for chapters 1–3 are as yet untried; confidence is high, but unproven. (12K)
- Kingdom Hearts — SYNTHESIS: Minimum Items Required
A cribsheet listing the total number of items needed to synthesize one of everything (and gain Sora’s Ultima Weapon). Handy for those who like to do all of their synthesizing in one fell swoop, and who loathe coming up one item short.
Submitted as a separate FAQ, but declined for “lack of content”. Offered to the synthesis FAQ’s author, but the e-mail bounced and hasn’t been updated. (8K)
- Kingdom Hearts — Missable Guide
A complete catalogue of every missable item or scene in Kingdom Hearts. Still an often-asked question and to date not one existing guide had even mentioned “missables,” so after all these years here’s the missing coverage.
Note. I may still pull a “Maltzsan” (a la FFXII’s Game Mechanics FAQ) and pad this guide with all the tidbits about the original Kingdom Hearts that I’ve collected over the years.

Current. This is the same file as listed on the KH FAQs page. Finally collected enough reliable reports to include the ReMix 1.5 changes to missables. Expanded linelength to 79 characters, too. With a minor fix (10/11/2015). (76K) |

- Kingdom Hearts — Statistics & Level-Up Bonuses Updated!
Herein lies a record of every statistic and level-up bonus you might find in Kingdom Hearts. The gaming world is going through a phase of statistical fascination. Low-level runs, stat maxing, or other challenges and pure curiosity raise questions from day to day. This guide is designed to address those frequent questions and sate those with a statistical bent.

- Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories — FAQ & Walkthrough
Only one walkthrough was available when writing began, so what the hey. My third guide published at GameFAQs received over two hundred hits its first day (and nearly every day since), more than both my Okage FAQs combined see in a week. Okay, no pressure there.
Freshly updated with no plans for the foreseeable future, so please bring anything missing, confusing, or in error to my attention.

7/10/2015 |
Current. This is the same file as listed on the KH-ReCOM FAQs page. A fix to one map, and added a heads-up at the top for KH HD ReMix 1.5 gamers; this piano player keeps getting shot for SE’s changes. Finally has a star at GameFAQs. (433K) |

3/12/2013 |
Two-year revisitation, prior to ReMix 1.5 release. Minor format changes, fixed typoes (and one map), cleared up a few confusing bits, expanded boss strategies a little, filled in more blanks. Added card duel requirements. (432K) |

Original. Submitted to GameFAQs...and accepted the same day. No, wasn’t expecting that. |
- Kingdom Hearts II — Synthesis Additions
Started out as a dupe of my KH list, but I tagged on a lot of other synthesis trivia.
Didn’t bother submitting to GameFAQs. The bulk of the info was picked up by Ultimaterializer X for the Bestiary/Synthesis Guide v3.1. The cribsheet was also picked up by Megafierce for the Synthesis Guide v0.85 (and mostly obscured in later revs).
Updated, Thursday, August 21, 2014. Hammered out the exact Moogle LV requirements. Added a detailed how-to for mythril preservation during one-off synthesis—leftovers, wow, no extras needed. (21K)
- Okage: Shadow King — FAQ & Walkthrough Updated!
Okage was in dire need of a complete, spoiler-free walkthrough for the game’s North American version. I started out intending to cover only the World Library, but far too many explanations crept in and things quickly snowballed.
No further updates are anticipated at this time, so if you spot anything missing or wrong be sure to bring it to my attention, as I won’t be reviewing this guide again for a very, very long time.
Awards. The walkthrough was honored with GameFAQs’ FAQ of the Month award for July 2006.

Current. This is the same file as listed on the Okage FAQs page. Original. Submitted to GameFAQs on Wednesday, September 20, 2006. The guide was accepted on Monday, September 25, 2006, but wasn’t listed under What’s New until Friday, September 29, 2006. The guide is complete and no updates are anticipated. (24K) |
Also available individually. If you prefer to avoid spoiling the other scenes, you can review each script separately. The following link to formatted web pages rather than plain text documents.
- Okage: Shadow King — Level-up Statistics Guide
And a third published guide for Okage (I replaced my old PS2, that’s my only defense). Documents all of the visible stat boosts awarded at each level-up for every playable character. Pretty straightforward, a curiosity mainly for the obsessive-compulsive afflicted (“No comment,” said I).
Awards. The Stats Guide was honored with GameFAQs’ FAQ of the Month award for December 2013. Ain’t that a kick in the pants.

- Okage: Shadow King — Pop-up Stanley “Guide” Updated!
Not for publication at GameFAQs, or anywhere else for that matter. Another one for Okage. Records everything Stan asks when he pops up before a random encounter, including his responses, both yea and nay. Also documents numerous failures, what wacky or seemingly cool answers to avoid if you want his help. Allows a means for keeping track of your own trials in pleasing (or annoying) Evil King Stan—on your own downloaded copy only, please (redistribution is prohibited).
Updated, last revised Friday, October 2, 2015, this cribsheet is a on-going project so the filename marks that date. With this update there may be nothing left to find, but have fun regardless. (60K)
- Secret Agent Clank — Weapons Guide
Nearly every Ratchet & Clank game I’d ever played had a weapons guide, or at least a beefy section in a walkthrough or two. But nothing for Secret Agent Clank! One weapon and several items are virtually unnamed in all other guides, and that was a shame. So after a month of toil and trouble, here it is: Everything you could ever want to know about every inventory item in SAC—weapons, gadgets, inventory items, the works! And a few noninventory items, as well.
